Pictures
speak louder than words. The screen of the oil pump on this vehicle
was sitting in 1 1/2 " of sludge." We have a sample
of the stuff that came out of the oil pan of this car in a jar
on display in the waiting room. The sad part is, once we got it
all cleaned up and put back together, the oil pressure went from
0 to 70 psi which was GREAT!!! But after the engine warmed up,
the pressure dropped to 25 psi. This means they ran the engine
so long with the oil pressure light flickering on and off that
the internal components of the engine were ruined.
The only solution now
is to pull the engine and overhaul it. This engine would have
lasted a lot longer on this 1997 Toyota Camry if it had been properly
serviced on regular intervals!
