Summertime is prime time for family vacations. Unfortunately,
family vacations can be lackluster and predictable if you aren't
inspired during the planning process. If you're looking for something
really different to do this year, consider heading to destinations
that will raise the hair on the backs of all your necks, send
a chill through summer-warmed bodies, and give the kids plenty
of bragging rights when they get back home.
If you're in the market
for trips with a deliciously unusual--maybe even a bit creepy--theme,
we have some good ones to suggest: a stroll through an ancient
New Orleans cemetery, a trip deep underground in some Texas
caves, or how about a lazy float down some of Texas finest rivers.
If you're not into the thrills and chills of white water rafting,
then a leisurely float down the San Marcos river might just be
right up your alley.
